Christian Rizzalli

and Davydd McDonald

Christian Rizzalli

Christian has been playing folk music since late 2015, when he began attending Irish tune sessions and traditional singing sessions, rapidly becoming a fixture of the Brisbane traditional music scene.

As a bouzouki player and singer, his repertoire draws upon a wide range of Irish and English traditional sources, along with the rich body of Anglo-Celtic folk music that has been fostered in Australia.

Davydd McDonald

For over 20 years, Fiddle player, dancer and Multi-Instrumentalist Davydd McDonald has developed a passion for traditional music and dance. Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, you’ll regularly find him at the local sessions in Brisbane, playing on-stage with local bands, teaching workshops at festivals & music camps across Australia, or wherever the tunes can be found.

An avid collector and educator of traditional music, he has specialised in music styles from Scotland and Appalachia, but his true love of the fiddle styles of Ireland takes centre-stage. With influences from bands such as Dervish, Danu, Altan, The Bothy Band and Lunasa, and fiddle players such as Liz Doherty, Liz Carroll, Fergal Scahill and Cathal Hayden, Davydd has developed a style of playing focussed on groove and the accompaniment of traditional dancing.
